I’m working on a series of called the D-listers. This series will consist of lesser/weak known villains in the marvel/DC universe and my first subject is the Rhino; A villain from the Spider-Man Rouge gallery. He is know as Spider-Man’s dimmest villains, but here I wanted to make him seem like he is an actual threat and not just a dude in a rhino suit that gives him superhuman strength, speed, durability, and endurance. Nerd alert. Opp to late. Can’t wait to ink this. If only I can learn how to work this printer properly. Well anyway this post is just showing my process.

Billy Batson and the Magic of Shazam! was an all-ages comic book series published by DC Comics as a part of its now defunct Johnny DC imprint. The series debuted in September 2008, and was originally written and drawn by Mike Kunkel.

This is just an Illustration to pay homage to this great all ages title. You have Billy Batson in the foreground transforming back into his mortal form after he said SHAZAM, thus having all the smoke behind him. And in the background you have the MAD MUMMY stalking the young Billy Batson.

Hanging on for dear life.

Thought this was funny. A little shrewd, but funny nevertheless. Drawn by AH! AKA Adam Hughes.

Dog Day of Summer #6……A few posts ago you saw a bunny with a gun. Well his name is Dust Bunny and you don’t want to mess with him.  Dust Bunny is a graphic novel that my friend, animator, cartoonist, illustrator, soon to be husband, and many other aliases Brett Brooks is working on.
In a nutshell “Dust Bunny” is the story of a law-enforcing rabbit and his partner, Mite.Sweeping the streets of Basement City for answers regarding his best friend’s murder, Dust Bunny embarks on an investigation full of quirky surprises and colorful characters. But following the killer’s tracks proves to be a dangerous path, as what seems to be a black-and-white case quickly escalates into an unraveled conspiracy more threatening than anything Basement City has ever seen.
Throughout the graphic novel it has a black and white vibe to it.  Kind of like Sin City meets Looney Tunes times ten.  I tried to capture that feel in the Dust Bunny illustration.  To follow the process of Dust Bunny please visit http://dustbunnycomic.blogspot.com

This was my take on his character Wonderboy for his book “Many faces of Wonderboy Project.” Due to faulty internet connections on my end Dave never received the email. Dave is a phenomenal writer and his artist Samir is also very talented. To check out more Wonderboy and other projects from Dave Wheeler check out his websites; http://www.mindblowstudios.com/ and http://www.wonderboycomic.com/
